Disappointed? What .... woke up this morning and no unicorns, rainbows and candy canes - only tax cheats? Yea, Obama was way too lofty in setting his goals when he thought he could find a Cabinet of law abiding public servants from within the Democratic ranks. You know its bad when the Clinton's financial dealings look clean by comparison.

No unicorns and rainbows, but, unlike some, it not all Freddy Kruger-like, fire, brimstone, and I am not wrought with complete cynicism. I know what to expect from you-- along with the New York obsession.

The one telling thing that I heard about Daschle (sp?) is that the IRS notified him of his error on two years of non-payment. The first two years of the four that he did not pay. What does that tell you? He certainly can't play the ignorance card any longer...

Former Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk, nominated as Obama’s U.S. Trade Representative, made several errors on his tax returns, according to a report released Monday afternoon by the Senate Finance Committee. He has agreed to pay $9,975 in additional taxes to make up for the errors, the report said.

The report said Kirk will file an amended return next week. The panel is also postponing a confirmation hearing for Kirk, initially scheduled for Thursday, until March 9. "

I'm curious - when was he made aware of the errors? Did he agree to pay the additional taxes only when he was nominated for Trade Representative - ala Daschle.
