Just ran across this article on the Weather Channel's web page regarding UFO houses...

"Finnish architect Matt Suuronen first came up with a FUTURO prototype in the late 1960s when a friend asked him to design a cabin that would be "quick to heat and easy to construct in rough terrain."

Will, my wife was looking for plans on a house in Seaside for a client and I was helping her find the architect, it was Ken Isaacs. Google him, really amazingly weird, quirky guy. Very interesting.

I don't know how far back my brain cells can take me, and I don't know if there's anybody on SoWal that can back me on this, but I remember a Futuro House at the foot of the 331 bridge (on the southwest corner) at the site where Bailey's was built many, many years ago. I'm thinking it was in the sixties... but you know how that goes...

Don't know about a Futuro House at the foot of 331 bridge, but have seen the one that the article says is in Pensacola. It is actually in Navarre Beach.

It's only a mile and half from the Pensacola Beach Bridge...

IIRC there are two very futuristic homes on that stretch of beach, there's a geodesic dome closer to Navarre.
