I think most thieves are probably just smart enough to not take the stuff to pawn shops these days. They just sell it for cheap on the black market to people who want huge discounts, and choose to ignore the fact that the items are probably stolen.
I recall another thread on here about someone who has a giant pine in their yard with branches falling onto their home from the last storm. Maybe they needed a chainsaw to clear all those.........Awwwwwww never mind. Just kidding. I couldn't resist.
:funn::funn:
Haha. It would only cost me as much in gas to drive to Memphis to steal a chainsaw as it would to just have the thing cut down.
On a serious note... watch Craigslist. If stolen to be resold, that's a very likely bet.
Always file a report. These dudes are likely to return to your neighborhood and do it to someone else. If they are eventually caught, they might be able to link them to your report and get them on multiple charges.
My brother in law (police guy) chewed me out for not filing reports when we've had things stolen.
Last Christmas, I watched a carload of guys stealing stuff on our street. They watched me pull out my phone and call the cops, but they didn't care. They just kept doing what they were doing and moseyed down the road.
Report taken care of. Done that same night. If it shows up in a pawn shop within the next 30 days we will be notified. I am scared they will come back. They may be responsible for the other theft in the neighborhood a few months back.
