There is no doubt it should be posted where ALL can see it. It is not a lounge issue it is an issue affecting all monuments and memorials to those who served in ANY war in which the U.S. participated. My suggestion...MOVE IT BACK!!!

Our American Heritage is full of embarrassment but we still proudly fly our America Flag!

Andy and Misty are correct. The moderator(s) decided to limit viewer access to Misty's post about the Petition to Protect Monuments. The thread regarding the Petition to Remove the Confederate Flag took on many different subjects and many quotes from people who were not African American in support of removing. If it were not for Misty, Andy and Danny and a few others including myself it would have been a very one sided thread from people who can not prove any other respect to African Americans except trashing the Confederate Flag and Southern Heritage/History. This is a good example of poor manners by someone to put it mildly.

The thread was moved because it is off topic. While it affects Walton County, it is not happening directly in Walton County. If you look at other threads in the lounge you'll see many of them are about issues that affect us in Walton County.

It was not moved to limit views. If it pertains to the flag issue then it should have been posted in that thread.

I mean you no disrespect Kurt...

It is happening directly in Walton County. If legislation is passed, it will have a statewide impact.

And just so we don't get this twisted, when I private messaged you about why this thread was moved, what you said to me was and I'll quote you; "It's not specifically about SoWal". So, if that's the case, the confederate flag issue isn't specifically about SoWal because the flag isn't flown at the Courthouse Annex in SoWal and there is no monument there either. Also, most of the people who signed the petition to remove that flag were NOT from Walton County and did not have a dog in the fight.

P.S. Kurt, These are 2 distinctly different petitions. 1 had to do with the removal of a flag, this 1 has to do with keeping monuments and memorials.

On this issue, while I have the deepest respect for Kurt, Misty is right. There are memorials and monuments to fallen soldiers all over Walton County and Florida. I believe there is even a memorial to soldiers very close to me at Gulf Cemetary. It is your site, Kurt, and we all appreciate it and the usage thereof. However, I think your interpretation of this issue is wrong in this case.
