Remember, that the position of the sunset changes according to the angle of the sun. In the winter, the sun sets to the southwest over the Gulf. In the summer, beach front property owners with a straight view to the south can't see the sunset over the water because it shifts so far to the northwest. One photo location all year wouldn't work too well.

I find it very interesting how nature signals the changing of the seasons in this area. Most of the native vegetation is evergreen and the scrub oaks lose their leaves in the spring! However, there is no doubt the time of year when you know which insects are in "season". Yellow flies in the spring, deer flies in the fall, Monarchs migrating to Mexico in the fall, love bugs, dragon flies all appear during certain seasons. I also enjoy the wildflowers that bloom in late September after is starts to cool off.

I think the interesting part of taking the photo from the same place is to see the movement of the sun over time -- watching the change, not necessarily the sunset itself, but thanks for the reminder. There in lies the problem of making the book. Some people would say, "that is not a good picture, why did they put that in the book?" Maybe the book could be titled, "A Year of Change at Grayton 2005," and 2006, 2007, etc. so that people could link to the concept.

If ONE person likes the photos you are taking, it should be worth your while to post them here. I love your photos,
I can only be there once in a while, and you bring me home. I thank you very much for all the photos! :clap_1: :clap_1: :clap_1: :clap_1:
