Once again....Gorgeous, Gorgeous, Gorgeous. Just makes me want to be there so much more. 8 weeks and counting. Thank you Kurt for helping me get through my day's here in Alabama!!!! It is so nice to be able to go to the "virtual beach" everyday !!!!!:clap_1:

This is how I feel too...my own little virtual beach. My family keeps coming in and saying...it's April...and you are dreaming of vacation...it's not until August!!! Obviously, I want to be there now so this is my only way to make it until then.

I've been here long enough to really acclimate, and I still try to get my biking finished up by 11am during the summer. It really isn't the heat, it's the humidity. I did a race last year where one of my bike rackmates was saying he was just back from Saudi Arabia, and he felt worse here than he did there with 120F heat and 5% humidity. But the other 10 1/2 months here more than make up for any late summer discomfort, IMO.

What I'd suggest is an early morning breakfast ride. Get up with the sun, get riding, and pedal over to one of the cafes open for breakfast -Hibiscus Coffee in Grayton, WaterColor Market, Modica Market in Seaside, Summer Kitchen in Rosemary Beach, etc.- and enjoy a really nice meal. Then grab an extra drink to go, and enjoy exploring some more before it gets too warm. It's what all the local roadies tend to do when the weather gets cranking.

Thanks for the pictures! We will be there in 2 DAYS!!!!!! :D :D :D :D I can't wait, and the pictures make it even harder to wait. It looks beautiful there. My favorite picture is the one of the Natchez Beach Pavilion. It's very cool.

The Pelican was blown off by Ivan. It will be replaced, but the cage below it needs to be rebuilt first. I'm just glad that all the walkovers have been rebuilt.
