Blue Mtn Beach!!
I am SO tired of dog POOP! I see it all around my neighborhood - in the gravel, on the edge of a lot, and then I go out to beautiful 30A to walk or jog and what do I see??? MORE DOG POOP - all over! Yesterday I walked on the beach and MORE DOG POOP! I find it hard to find hope in the world when people can't even pick up S**T! :cuss:

I mean what if people just dropped and dumped? :moon: I see no difference. It is disgusting. :puke:

People need to get a bag AND there needs to be beach stations and stations along 30A for doggie bags.

There, I feel better! Sort of.....

One would think that there would be some serious potential income for the county to enforce the gamut of dog related laws here. Unfortunately some people need some negative consequences before they actually take responsibilty for their pets.

For some reason, many people think their dog's sheet is not nasty or trash.

I constantly wave/yell at people from my kitchen window as their dog craps next to my walkway or driveway.

Sowal eyes are watching you, bad dog owners - tourists AND locals BTW.

I have been known to run out and give a tourist a bag to pick up their dog poop. In Destin on Holiday Isle they have stations with poop bags. That is great but Holiday Isle owners pay a small fee for upkeep and I am sure poop bags figure in the mix. Seagrove is dog friendly so maybe rentals should address this and/or provide poop bags. Pubix sells rolls of poop bags so it is not hard to pick up and do the right thing.

Doggie bag stations are not going to help. If people don't pick up they won't pick up if bags are available. I've seen that happen and I have never lived in a place where the dog poop is so bad as it is here in Walton County. And, it is not only our visitors. I have a neighbor who opens his door, lets his dogs poop on the neighbors yard across the street and then calls his dogs in again. Nice guy!!! Yes our county could make a pile of money by enforcing the pet clean up ordinance. But then again, what does our county enforce?

Scooty,
I'm curious if you experience the same batch of repeat offenders (or is it typically different folks/dogs)?

The reason I ask: I'm trying to get a handle on whether face-to-face-address with people (and animals) about inappropriate behavior produces any measurable degree of positive results these days?

BTW - I'm also conducting this informal research in my own household... and the gatos ARE included .
