Ditto the Morrison Springs recommendation. And by all means, if you can get a sitter Econfina is one of my favorite things to do, especially this year. Go on a weekday if possible, the weekends tend to be overcrowded and noisy.

Yes... Econfina is best on a weekday. You get a better feeling of nature and it is not overcrowded.

We used to dive Vortex and Morrison's and loved them both. Nevaeh was at Vortex for a big Birthday bash and now she is hooked. As far as Ponce de Leon, I haven't been but Ms. Lisa and her hubby love the fact that it is a good cold place to go swim. Good alternatives if you need a cool off spot. They are all also located within a short drive to Red Bay Grocery. Yummy BBQ and good southern cooking!
