My perfect beach
Me too. Mr. Baxter (pictured up there ) sends his best, too. Our dogs are like family members. I hope yours makes a complete recovery.

I'd suggest looking into pancreatitis. Our dog had a bout last year. She was lethargic, not interested in food, throwing up a lot. If unchecked, it can do irreversible damage. Ours started (as do a lot of cases) from uncommon fatty treats. A lot of cases come up around Thanksgiving and Christmas when the dog gets too much ham. Fortunately, our vet quickly diagnosed it - we've watched her diet to prevent a return engagement.

Thank you. I truly do not know if he is going to make it, and we are pained by his declining health. Yes, he is our family too. Tomorrow morning I am going to see if our vet will give us an anti-nausea drug- injection would be best. He is so skinny. And he isn't eating his own food. If anyone knows of food that he might eat--- something I can entice him with-- please send me a message. What human food is good for him? Thank you.

I am assuming that all the labs and tests have been run- bloodwork, barium GI series, ultrasound, and nothing is showing up?

I don't have a suggestion, except for Barry Veterinary (or if they are too busy, Dr. Barr in Freeport is another excellent choice). But I am remembering you and your dog in my prayers.

I had a problem with my dog throwing up also back in January. I did give her lots of table food and fatty things like the ham and turkey from Holiday meals. She threw up so much she couldnt walk. Called vet and they gave her fluids every day Sub-Q . So that lasted her a day to see if she could come out of her sickness. Well it didnt, so back for day after day for fluids. We were up giving her pedialite every 2 hrs in teaspoons. This only kept her from dying from dehydration. She was so weak and they had just about decided to do exploratory surgery on her and by the grace of God she started perking up after the 5th day of antibiotics and fluids. No more table food for her. We do give her raw veggies like carrots and green beans. She loves them. Just no meats other than chicken and maybe some rice (Plain). She did have pancreatitis.

I will say a prayer for your baby.

Hope your furbaby is doing better. Sending prayers and get well wishes your way. Dr. Barr, as another poster said maybe able to help. He sure helped us.Pedi lyte can help as plain boiled chicken and rice if she has pancreatitis. No fatty meats or meals. I went through something similar with mine a few months back and understand how you feel. Don't give up until you find a vet that can answer your questions. It took a couple of trips to different ones till we found out what was going on with mine. Thinking of you:wave:

My dog was very ill a few years ago and the vet suggested instant rice cooked in chicken broth. It worked and slowly added some canned dog food as he improved.

So far, Noche has eaten three small portions of rice and Chicken all day. And I believe he has held it down - all this time.

And an update on the anti-nausea medicine- he had been receiving that by injection both vet visits- I just misunderstood, I guess. It didn't help much, as I said- he had been puking every day.

Thanks for your notes- everything. I have new hope today.
A picture of Noche attached.
