I am watching the Ch 13 (WMBB) ABC local weather, and they throw up a screen which reads, "Precision Forecast."

"Wow! That is a bold title, since the weather forecasts around are seldom accurate," I think to myself.

So I watch more closely to see just how precise the forecast is. It was a map of the USA and showed a cold front flag over most of the midwest, extending toward New England, and in the panhandle of FL, it showed the text, "Scattered Showers."

There is nothing like a "Precision Forecast." :funn:

I'm not defending WMBB... But I'm in the media business and have a friend that's (in my opinion) the best local meteorologists... When i asked him while enjoying our first beer together why the weather channel and local weather is so inaccurate, this was his explanation... "have you noticed what is south of here? we're situated between land and water that's always two different temperatures. As we all learned in elementary school, heat rises. This is one of the many unique features of this area. It's not like forecasting weather for Utah." So with that explanation i finished my beer and decided to never look at local weather. When i need it i call him.

I am still hoping for some of that 80% chance of rain today.

I have no problems with inaccurate weather forecast, but calling it a "precision forecast," is rather silly, since it is not precise at all. For the last five years, I've been going with the WYSIWYG Weather.

Maybe the inaccurate forecast is precisely wrong.

It's raining over here in Dune Allen.

Although it has been funn watching Justin Kelley (Channel 7) back peddle on that it's going to rain all week and stop in time for Saturday thing he's been preaching all week. I guess I can forgive it, he is getting excited about announcing everything forming in the tropics hitting here.

Jason Kelly on 7 is generally the best of the local forecasters, and is definitely the go-to guy for tropical weather.

You must like living in constant fear and panic. :funn:

I remember one year when he was giving shark attack forecasts after that kid over in P-cola got bit.

He also predicts anything forming in the tropics hitting here. Somehow it rarely works out for him. :D
