I think what's more important is the content - what do these folks stand for, what are they demanding.
I'd prefer we ask that question after filtering out the extremists of both groups (obama haters vs. socialist and communists).
Tea Party rallys have to do generally with limiting government's control over our lives, cleaning up washington, and decreased federal and state level debt. I think that's a positive message that appeals to a lot of folks.

The people at both of these rallies weren't promoting specific plans, they were promoting agendas.
You avoided my question though, what agenda are the progressives promoting at their rally? From the reports I've read, it basically boiled down to a "get out the vote" rally for incumbent democrats.
These are same incumbent democrats who for the last four years have increased our debt, bailed out the corporations, increased government's intrusion into our lives, and increased government spending.
I guess I just don't get where these people are coming from.

No, he just said they had "increased government intrusion into our lives" as part of the list.

ObamaCare for one thing. They'll be checking up on you to make sure you comply with the mandate. (The mandate alone effects every american citizen in one sweep.) Plus of course, the federal government will begin heavily regulating the health insurance you can have and the coverage you receive.
(My company's coverage costs just went up substantially too, but that's a different issue.)
Well, I think it's stupid to not have health insurance*, so I don't find that to be so terrible.
*Mostly because basic or emergency care is $$$$$$$$$$$$

All I have to go on is my own personal experience. ObamaCare has negatively impacted my life. The PatriotAct? I'm not a fan of that but really, it hasn't effected me at all.
(I also don't think Obama and the democrats should get a free pass because "Goerge Bush did it too." That's a lame excuse.)
