Wish I weren't so far away, Alice. This sounds wonderful. We've just been discussing putting ourselves first on another thread. Thanks for posting!

I'm sorry you feel that way. Learning to Put Yourself First is about learning to make time for yourself in appropriate ways. It isn't about being self-centered. If we don't take the time to take care of ourselves, in all ways, we aren't living up to our full potential.

Like most things in this world, this principle can be overused and can create problems. Life is, after all, about balance.

The longer title of this workshop is "The importance of putting yourself first." It is important to take time for yourself. It is important to take care of ourselves. It is important to be a priority in your life.

Minister of what? Putting yourself first is a receipe for a disaster!

I put work first.

This is why I'm a mess!:bang:

Florida Girl and Kimmi- think of it like this:

Think of yourself as a table.

Your table legs are made up of your health, your finances, your emotional well being, and your spiritual well being.

On top of that table you are going to stack life's issues.
Such as your family, your work, your relationships, your hobbies and interests. You occassionaly have to handle the heavy load of what life piles on there. An emergency, crisis- whatever gets thrown at you.

In order to be able to hold all that weight, your legs have to be strong, and equally so. If one of them become weak, the whole thing can come tumbling down.

Alice's programs and connections to others are quite helpful and insightful. I had the pleasure of meeting her through friends at House of Angels a few years ago. Worth looking into.

:welcome: Welcome aboard Alice!
