Don't fret. Florida Girl is a grain of sand in our oyster.

But that grain of sand makes a precious pearl! By the way, whose oyster? Just how long have you been here? As long as everyone agrees, life is okay? I come from a long line of independent thinkers, and I don't agree. The art of converstion requires 2 sides. I guess you guys ascribe to the philosophy of "don't rock the boat?" Don't make waves?

Florida Girl and Kimmi- think of it like this:

Think of yourself as a table.

Your table legs are made up of your health, your finances, your emotional well being, and your spiritual well being.

On top of that table you are going to stack life's issues.
Such as your family, your work, your relationships, your hobbies and interests. You occassionaly have to handle the heavy load of what life piles on there. An emergency, crisis- whatever gets thrown at you.

In order to be able to hold all that weight, your legs have to be strong, and equally so. If one of them become weak, the whole thing can come tumbling down.

Alice's programs and connections to others are quite helpful and insightful. I had the pleasure of meeting her through friends at House of Angels a few years ago. Worth looking into.

:welcome: Welcome aboard Alice!

You got my point exactly and still reacted with anger. I was thinking of the pearl as dialogue that happens here. Although I think you are trying too hard to prove that you are an independent thinker, rather than just letting us know your thoughts, I value your participation. I suppose youth will be served.

I think in this case you don't agree because you don't understand. You can't always put others first unless you aspire to be Mother Teresa.

As to your other questions, no matter how long I am here it will not be long enough. And the oyster is all of us on this forum. I happen to like mine steamed, if I didn't I would hit the ban button.

You GO Kurt!!!! :clap_1:
I have been to Alice McCall's workshop on abundance (not the one you all were talking about here....) she is a wonderful individual and it was one of the best things I have ever done. I too was once a "workaholic" - but once you understand and let go - things are so much easier and life is so much more wonderful.......

You come from a "long line of independent thinkers" - are you saying you are the next generation in your family of independent thinkers? Out of curiousty, how do you personally define this?

Great metaphor Kenny!

I didn't think this would be become such a hot topic but I am happy to see that so many of you see the value on spending time to put yourself first.

If you can, take time to enjoy this beautiful day!

Kurt- you rock! So tactful. Another one of my favorite quotes is, "Don't alienate...Educate!" I love it, you crack me up.

Perhaps I understand more than you know! A long line denotes geneology. As I don't agree with your philosophy, my opinions are considered in anger? Or perhaps I respond in kind to the statements made? Everyone believes one story, until the other side is presented. Have you not heard the other side?
Perhaps thats it. I do however appreciate the youth part, although I'm probably older than you think. I accept that as a compliment! As humans, we should always strive to be better, I'm not satisfied with the status quo, are you? If you can't make it to your perception of Mother Teresa, does that mean you settle into your easy chair?
