Been 22 yrs. Took a no. of times, soming op's, and, finally, when I went back to 3rd shift, I bummed one and after 2 drags, I put it out and that was the last one.
I know people who have done the pills, patch stayed off for a long time, and then go back on.
I had also startd running, and that helped.
It's mind over matter, and now, mind over wallet. After you stop, and you get near someone who's still smoking and you smell their clothes, you think, that's how I used to be.
Everyone has their own way to stop. Just gotta do it.

SWGB, how's that workin' for ya? Did anything work? Are you still smoking? Cigarettes just went up another buck. Even generic brands are almost 6 dollars! I either have to quit smoking or quit eating. :bang:

"spontaneous pneumothorax".....it happened twice!! That's where your lung collapes for seemingly no reason at all. Once you've had a chest tube put in even once, it is something you remember vividly for a lifetime! After the second time, during my follow-up visit, I asked the Air Force doctor if it might be because I smoked two packs of Salems a day.....and he leaned back in his chair, put his feet on his desk, took a big drag off his cigarette (that was when you could smoke where you pleased) and said "I don't think so...". I quit cold-turkey right away and, twenty-seven years later have never had the urge for another.
