I just looked at the KY county results- very predictable. Major cities/urban areas voted for Conway, rural went Paul/Tea Party (I can't call that guy a Republican- it is an insult to Republicans.)

Congratulations to Delaware, whose citizens should be proud they did not elect Christine O'Donnell. Bring on Tina Fey- I bet she is working up a good routine for SNL.

And thank you UofL for your thoughts. Hope to finally meet you this fall!

Rand Paul said, "we have come to take our government back"....and that's what the Tea Party wants--to take us back to the 1950s!

Like Kentucky really needed to go backwards.

Well, you would know more about that than I do...:D

I sure see Florida losing a lot though with Rubio in the Senate; good news is that he is out of Florida state politics and he is a freshman senator, so not much power--he may not get a lot of what he wants, but Florida won't get what we would have gotten with a Democrat or a more moderate Republican. And, with Boyd gone, we will lose a lot of good that came from his seniority; I am not fond of him, but would have preferred he stay for now.

I continue to be amazed :dunno: at how people from all sides can be persuaded to vote against their own interests...

with this lineup, I see education and progress for women and minorities going backward fast and that is sad after all the hard work that has been done in these areas. I am especially appalled to see that Daniel Webster was elected from the Orlando area--he is so right wing and fundamental; I worked in the legislature when he was there, and I don't think there was ever an issue where he was not on the far right fringe. Scary.

Everyone has the right to vote for whom ever they wish. It is what makes America great. My first vote was for Dwight Eisenhower in 1952. I was a A/2C in the Air Force. Everyone should exercise their right to vote. My only regret, regardless of what your voting position may be, is that so many who vote are so woefully uninformed on the issues pertaining to whom they are voting for.

I hear you, Andy!

In mentioning to a fellow employee about someone I backed, she asked what he was running for (State Representative) then which party he was with. So she didn't even know her State Representative but was willing to vote straight ticket because of party affiliation. Those are the folks in all parties that get us stuck with some real underperforming and sometimes harmful people!

But you gotta love Ben Chandler's win, and Greg Fischer beating that uber-conservative Hal Heiner for Louisville's mayor- why does someone need to be all Christiany to be a mayor? Run the damn city Monday through Saturday and go to church on Sunday!

And John Yarmuth. I love John Yarmuth. So despite Rand Paul, KY got some good peeps elected and reelected. Wish I could be so optimistic for FL.

Andy, I don't know what you mean by this--I am not "spinning" anything, if you read closely, I said "I". these are my thoughts based on quite a bit of experience and especially political experience in Tallahassee and Washington. am simply voicing my opinion for what's worth--no one has to pay any attention, but I have as much right as you to voice it...

We are a nation consumed by short-term thinking and fragmented political contests centered on narrowly defined issues. Neither of our two major parties has a credible vision for the economic future of our nation.

The Republicans offer only their standard prescription of tax cuts for the rich, a rollback of regulations on predatory corporations, and elimination of the social safety net?a proven prescription for further job loss and devastation of the middle class.

The Democrats have no identifiable program for economic recovery, let alone for adapting our economy to the dramatic demographic, environmental, economic, and political changes that rule out any chance of a return to pre-2008 business as usual.
