Christmas has finally left our house. Outside lights came down today. Boxes ready for the attic. There is still time.

I feel your pain and relief.
Yesterday I took down the wreaths out on the brick posts down by the road. So I'm finished with my stuff, too. Now I have to haul all of daughter's decorations from the garage to the third floor.
Hubby has been having back problems, so he can't help. Ditto for daughter. New doc says their back problems are caused by tight hamstrings -- I mean, their legs are rock hard.

I figure since my xmas "tree" is a live plant and is only 3' tall and my decorations consist of 3 strings of lights I can push the envelope a little!

I had every stitch of christmas crap down and out of my house two days after christmas. it was truly closing in on me. fortunately, we didn't do outside lights.
kitty et al, I recommend that you just GET R DONE. you'll feel like you can finally start your year. (I'm going to start saying get r done, since I'm full blooded redneck according to that thread).
I like this. I would definitely keep it around and decorate it for different holidays. you can make your own ornaments, and buy a few, as you go. how funn!
I have one of those little live plants/trees - kinda looks like a small christmas tree - about 3 feet tall. I want to put in on the back porch and decorate it year round. not sure bout lights though.
