I hear the raw food diet is supposed to normalize weight. It basically gives you sugar from fruits and veggies are supposed to energize you.
The theory is that cooked food go into fat production and does not metabolize as well as raw foods.
Once you start the diet, you have to stick with it and can't mix cooked foods due to the acid in the stomach it produces and doesn't mix well with raw foods.
I know a little bit about it because my doctor is treating me for Lyme disease and some people are following the diet to give them more energy.
It has to be supplemented with some vitamins though.
I just take vegetables and fruits in capsule form Doc gives me since I do not need to lose weight nor do I wish to just eat raw foods. The capsules provide all the nutrients, antioxidants etc. you would get from eating the recommended amount of them daily, which no one possibly consumes! It's quite a bit.
I still have some cavewoman in me, and got to have a burger or a steak now and then
