Relocation from Huntsville, Alabama - Need LTR

Hi everyone. My wife and I are from the Huntsville, Alabama area. I have recently accepted a job with a large defense contractor in the area so my wife and I are looking for a long term rental. It's just us and my 9 year old daughter. No pets or anything like that. We'd prefer a 2 or 3 BR with 2 bathrooms. The closer to the beach the better!

We are both hard working, quiet professionals that are looking for a family friendly neighborhood. My wife is a retired Air Force Security Forces officer and I am an MBA with a specialty in Supply Chain Management. We're also planning on gradually starting our property maintenace company with pool cleaning, landscaping and cleaning on the side as well. Our daughter is well behaved, very wonderful and quiet child. We would treat your rental property as if it were our own. If you have anything available or know of anyone, please let us know. It would be greatly appreciated. As a side note, we were down there over part of this weekend and we really liked Sandestin and the Palms of Destin but we are open to other options. I can come down later in the week for another visit as needed as well. Thanks so much.

We are looking at no more than $2000 per month so that should give us a good bit of option. We did look at a wonderful property when we were down yesterday but we like to keep all options open. Thanks so much!

Welcome! If you're working at Eglin, I definitely wouldn't go any further east than Sandestin. The summer commute on 98 through Destin can be pure hell. (You just happened to visit in the lull between srping break and summer vacation) Probably the Crystal Beach (Destin side) / Miramar Beach (Walton County side) would be your best bet.

Hi,

I'll actually be working up in Crestview but want to live near the beach. I currently have a 45 min drive here in Huntsville so I'm used to the hectic drive. Plus, I'll begin work around 6 AM so hopefully I'll miss alot of the traffic. I haven't had much feedback from the posting. Hoping to hear from some of you all that have the type rentals we're seeking. Even if you know of anyone with a rental in the Destin area, please pass our name on if you don't mind. We're good tenants and have personal, professional, and previous landlord references available up on request. Thanks again everyone.

Yes ma'am. We are very excited. My wife is not originally from Alabama and she hates it. So, if the wife is not happy..ain't nobody happy...ha! We enjoyed our time in Desin and my 9 year old girl loved it. It seems so family oriented compared to Panama City. Plus, my wife likes all the shopping! I'm in love with the water as I love boating and swimming. My daughter is like a fish! ha

My husband and I are also from Huntsville, and if all goes well we should be moving to SoWal (for GOOD!) in mid-June. I have two daughters, ages 12 and 10 who will be attending Emerald Coast Middle School this fall. My husband works in the defense industry also and I work for a college in Nashville.
