That really does bite. They would not have liked me very much by the time I got through with them (the rental agent) :pissed:

As to my rental, we settled on 30 days so all is well and hope we like the location.

Were they doing the beach renourishment (blowing sand back upon the beach)? Just curious, was this complex Largo Mar, or was it some place on the west end of Panama City?
Yes, this was Largo Mar. A very nice townhouse on the less busy end of Panama City, close to the state park and to the marina and where my husband departs for his dives. I loved the townhouse, but left with a very bitter taste after fussing with the rental agent over this and other more serious problems which were never settled.

Yes they were doing beach renourishment. It looked great when it was complete, but the way they were speeding around on the equipment you couldn't let the kids out of your site while they were in front of unit. We went down to Grayton Beach and Dune Allen on one of these days, and to Alligator Lake another.

You're right, I can't wait for this year in Dune Allen! We're not scheduled until the end of July. My family has four Dune 1 townhouses rented the same week. I'm a little nervous about hurricane season. We have better luck when we visit early in the summer. Ivan and Dennis put a real dent in our plans the past couple of years. Then Katrina came along and hit us where we live. Life will never be the same, but that's exactly why I really need this year's beach vacation.

I thought it was Largo Mar, we spent several vacations there before we started going to the Destin-SoWal area. I loved those townhouses, just walk right out your door and there you were. I certainly understand the frustration about your rental, not exactly what you were paying hard earned money for. I hope this year your vacation is much, much better. You certainly deserve it. You may want to do a search on this site for Dune I. I am not certain, but I think SJ or Kirk posted some pictures of Dune I and the townhouses looked like they took a big hit. The reason it sticks in my mind is because I thought about renting there before one of the hurricanes, I don't remember which one, they are all running together now. Best of luck. BTW, welcome, and keep posting.

If you look through my album, you will see photos of the pool which was sitting on the beach. I have not stopped by there recently, but I recall seeing some heavy yellow equipment down there a while back. They had much undermining, but the only thing that had fallen at the time was the pool. I won't be down that way this week, but if I remember, next week I will take some photos if it has changed, or give a report if it has not.

Thanks, SJ. That is very nice of you to do that. I know ameness would really appreciate it since she said they had rented 4 units.
