the article i read about doing this was a very serious article. apparently older people are getting into negotiating cruise rates for certain cabins and they just keep staying on the same ship because all things considered it is a lot cheaper than an assisted living place.

Heck, yeah. You could move into the one in Las Colinas, not be far from your Dallas friends, join the Sports Club there and play golf, get great massages/manicures/pedicures/skin treatments at the spa, etc.
