The smear campaign has now moved on from Charlie Sheen to Heather Locklear
"Heather wants to create a bunch of lies," says one Richards pal. "It's ridiculous."
Adds a mutual friend, "For Heather to make Denise out to be a homewrecker is just vile. Especially knowing all the hell that Denise has been through with Charlie."
Denise is hurt. Hurt , hurt, hurt ! "The whole thing has been very hurtful," she says, "especially hurtful to have untruths be perpetuated."
Sources close to Heather and Denise contend that the falling-out with Locklear began last year. "It makes Melrose Place look like Disneyland," says a mutual pal, who accuses Locklear of trying to recruit the neighborhood in her fight with the actress.

In perhaps the most transparent smear:
Says Us, "Sources say that their friendship grew strained over Locklear's partying, especially after the birth of Lola, 11 months. "Heather wants to go out and Denise wants to stay in with her kids, and that was the start of the friction," says the friend."
It seems Denise was also upset that Heather is using Charlie's divorce lawyer. Yeah. So what's the big deal?
"Heather has a very similar personality to Charlie. They are both extremely vindictive," says someone on Team Richards.
More than one source tells Us that Spade and Locklear became an item while she was still married to Sambora.

A Spade pal insists, though, that he and Locklear didn't meet until December. "He makes her laugh," says a Locklear insider.
A close Richards source insists romance did not bloom between the actress and Sambora until mid-March.
"It started with a chance meeting at a neighborhood park, where Richards and Sambora had brought their children; the two traded notes and war stories from their divorces, says a friend. "It was, 'Oh, my gosh, I can't believe what you've gone through,' and 'I can't believe what you've gone through.'" A Sambora pal says, "Denise was the aggressor, and called Richie and began the romantic relationship."
Team Richie Rich adds, "I know it's not really heard of in Hollywood, but Richie and Denise are two of the few people here that have character and integrity."

At first I was confused by it, but now I think it makes sense. He's a very funny guy, and she's probably the prettiest woman he's ever dated, so I'm sure he is in awe of her. And I think he makes her laugh. I'd love to have him as a guy friend.
Plus, maybe her relationship with David gets her in on all of his sister-in-law's new merchandise! Cool!

OK, I have never heard anything but wonderful things about Heather Locklear. Apparently she is sweet as pie and a total pro. I don't believe any of the above c**p. Richards sounds like a skank.
