Sorry to hear this. When we were staying on 30A this summer, I was disappointed but not surprised to see someone like this running for office. Even with his record. He knows that Americans have short memories, and if something didn't directly impact them, then they don't care...it's the American way of doing business and it was probably the government that caused it anyway:)
You know, maybe there is something wrong with our government if people like a Rick Scott can run for office, say whatever they want, and maybe get elected.
I would like to think that there is the silent majority that are moderates. How about starting a new party? The Moderates! Fiscally responsible and inclusive.

Can't help thinking of all the other things one could do with that amount of money - especially when so many are hurting. Well, at least he isn't controlled by lobbyists/contributors.

Except maybe the private healthcare industry. Boy I bet they'd love to see a guy like this elected to office.

Speaking of lobbyists, I wouldn't mind being one for Kaiser or United Health Care moving in to vie for a slice of Obamacare. I'll bet a lot of them will be more in bed with lobbyists over the next four years than we ever considered.

Look at what people voted for. Scott should be in jail and in Okie-dookie County people voted in two guys (Ashley and Amunds) who also should be in jail. While all of my candidates in Walton did not win, at least I don't think anyone belongs in jail so I guess Walton is ahead of the game.

I have no idea who I will support for Governor but I am excited about Rubio and want to know more about Southerland.

Where is the logic?

Florida already ranks at the bottom of the list in percentage of federal dollars received (stimulus package in particular). Why would we elect Scott who says as governor he would not accept more federal dollars?

We're 4th in population but receive less in federal dollars than we send to Washington. (97 cents to the $1) Other states with lower populations and fewer problems are getting our share. Something is wrong. Our politicans need to be working in Washington for us -- not making political statements which they think will play to voters.

Just what is your standard for being placed in jail?

Defrauding taxpayers would do it. I should have said "if the media reports are correct" because I have no direct knowledge of any of them merely relying on what I have read.

Ashley and Amunds had direct roles in the Morris scandal and IMHO there was enough smoke there to replace them with someone untainted. As to Scott, if what I have read is proven untrue, then I will be glad to reevaluate. I certainly do not like the alternatives.
