A rose is a rose....give me peonies. I also have asked to never have flowers sent to me on VD. (sorry gussifunn) It's better to receive them when not expecting them or to buy some at the grocery store when the mood strikes. I bet they will be on sale tomorrow.

I grow these every year at the base of my driveway and they just make me feel happy and people walk by and smile too. I told my neighbor I was gonna change it up, and my big manly man neighbor went . "You can't do that. I so look forward to getting up in the morning and seeing those happy faces and the birds on them."

I love peonies too, all colors. AND, Amen on the rest of your statement. Sadly though, it takes Valentine's Day for most men (mine included) for the flower mood to strike.

Merman just sent me an e-card with pink roses all over, signed "Happy Valentine's Day to my spring rose." Now it that a honey of a man or what?? He knows I love pictures of roses much more than the real thing, unless of course they are my roses from my garden.

I love peonies! I have a bunch in my yard that were my great great grandmother's. My grandmother transplanted them from her grandmother's yard to her own yard when the grandmother's house was being sold. Now they are mine! They smell fabulous in the spring!
