McCain a "liberal"? The guy who wants to keep feeding the war machine?

Tootsie, with McCain's policies, I'm not sure that a McCain Presidency would be much different from a Clinton Presidency, but I'd vote for McCain just so I don't have to listen to Hillary's screeching angry voice. I just hope that McCain picks a good VP, just in case something happens.

In many respects, funding a war machine is lining the pockets of political friends just like funding Federal health care does. They have different basis. Don't get me started on the war, and the hidden wars that the US enters. We continue to give missiles to countries like Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, etc and they continue to turn them toward us down the road. The Dems are as much to blame if you want to point fingers at why we are still in Iraq. They gave permission to Bush to keep the funding going. They gave him a blank check to start the war, and stripped the rights of all Americans via the Patriot Act. If you want to listen to the armchair Democrats and believe that Bush is responsible, go ahead. Right now, still have that freedom, but it will soon be stripped if we continue along this downward spiral.

I think that it is all about who is perceived as having the best chance to beat Hillary or Obama. IMHO McCain might be able to beat Hillary but I'm not so sure about Obama. For this reason I think that most republicans are rooting for Hillary to win the nomination. Republicans are so repulsed at the idea of Hillary as President that they are willing to sacrifice (not nominate a true conservative) in order to make sure that it doesn't happen. A moderate republican is better than Hillary any day of the week. Once again - just my opinion.

no, I am assuming nothing at this point. just pulling for McCain, just in case I have to make a hard choice. otherwise, I'll be forced to go with the Hill. you would not be happy with that now would you? neither would I but I would certainly do it.

Cmon, Romney at least has a sense of humor. On the idea of running against the Hil to be king of the Hill: "Frankly I can't wait. Because the idea of Bill Clinton back in the White House with nothing to do is something I just can't imagine."

hnooe, I'm not sure where you get your information, and maybe there is validity to it, but I think it has yet to be seen that the GOP Machine has crowned McCain victorious. I think the democratically minded news peeps have crowned him the winner so that even if the Dems lose, they will still have a Dem in office if McCain is chosen as the GOP nominee. None of the conservative bobble heads want McCain in the seat, not one.

I agree with you completely on this one, he is the liberal media's choice, not the Republican machine's. This is one reason why I think this next week will get very ugly and would not be surprised if there was some "swift boating.".
We have already seen evidence of news anchors prematurely reporting predicted winners as actual winners. I expect that on Fat Tuesday, we will see more of the same. Does Louisiana vote on Fat Tuesday this year?

The thought of Governor Crist being a heartbeat or lack thereof away from the presidency scares the bejeezus out of me. We supported him for governor, and he was a great AG, but we've been fairly unimpressed so far. Just glad we didn't do worse...

:rotfl: I know just enough about poliTRICKS to know better from seeking political office at this time. I can barely figure out myself sometimes and struggle with that most of the time. There is no way I'd have a clue about figuring out the rest of the growing problems of the world. Plus, I am broke and cannot afford to pay back promises. If you see me running around a political office, I'd suggest wagering that I am running AWAY from the office, not toward it. I cannot begin to imagine what a President of a Country has to base decisions upon. Nothing at that level is simple, and there are numerous twists to everything. Thanks, but no thanks.
