I'm coming through the ATL today, but would have a hard time getting 2 chickens and 2 dogs in the mini... But I agree that you must do something about this. Completely unacceptable...

Ooooh, I hope you can work it out! We've rented suv's/minivans (it's inevitable when you have four kids of the two-footed variety, not to mention the four-footed ones) before and gotten pretty good deals on them through National and Alamo - they run really good last-minute specials. Check them out if you haven't already.

Know EXACTLY what you mean about the 'babies'.... we have two goldens, and leaving them is exactly like leaving our kids!! We can't usually take them with us to SoWal because we are rent on 30A and not too many rentals like you to bring two big furry kids with you! :sosad: Another reason I can't wait to get relocated -- it will be priceless the first time Sophie and Beau see the ocean!!!:D

FYI... We did find a WONDERFUL rental company in Elijay, GA (North GA mountains) that rents cabins that are specifically pet-friendly. They don't charge any kind of pet fees, and provide you with doggie beds, bowls, toys, etc! We do take the 'girls' with us when we go there -- they love to hike the Appalachian Trail with us!! :D

Good luck!!!

Aww, that's too bad! I hope you all can find a way to make it here! It just wouldn't be the same without ya.

Thanks for all the words of encouragement. I'm still working on it. Still waiting for the call to come telling us what happened, too. I'll make it work if I can!

Got that part covered! My sister owns a cabin in Cherry Log, GA which is just south of Blue Ridge. It's the best kind of cabin...pet friendly and free!

we know what you mean about travel and dogs. we take Lulu on almost every trip. if we have to leave her home, then we arrange for family or a good friend to stay with her at our home. that's only happened about 3 times in six years. talk about queen of the universe. but its all worth it, huh?

hope you can do something before tomorrow! if not, plan another time soon.

Gosh, SC, that is really a bummer. :sosad:

I hear ya on the dogs. We haven't been anywhere except the beach since Pepper joined the family. As often as hubby travels overseas on business, we have enough FF miles to go around the world a few times in lie-flat seats, but we don't want to leave Pepper in a cage for days surrounded by potentially sick dogs at a vet's office. We are planning a trip to Italy this summer, and we are looking for someone whom we trust to keep her. If we can't find someone, we won't go.

SC, we'll have a few cocktails in your honor.
