hi, i was wondering if anyone would know of any good locations to launch a hobie cat sailboat. anywhere on the bay or gulf would work but the gulf would be preferable. the boat is light enough to be carried short distances if that allows to reach any hard to reach access points. thanks in advance! joel

Yes it does, but it's fairly shallow where the outlet is. How much depth do you need for the Hobie Cat? We put our kayaks in aat the launch down the street from the Red Bar in Grayton Beach and paddle down the outlet and then carry on the sand to the gulf.

You can obtain a launch permit from the county and then you can drive the boat out to the gulf on grayton beach. The hours are limited to the day, but you can back the trailer to the water.

Does he need a beach permit in order to get the launch permit?
That's right. You would need a beach permit and a launch permit, and you must own real estate in Walton County, have a four wheel drive, and know what the ef you are doing if you launch into the Gulf. Actually, the last part isn't required, but it can be costly if you don't. Launching into the Gulf isn't for beginners.
