Thank you for this post and I'm very sorry for her illness. I think I had the same thing. I ate at a restaurant in Destin on Saturday afternoon. By 4:00 am on Monday morning I was sick as a ---. I stayed that way till Thursday morning. I was losing everything from both ends and the pain in my stomach was tremendous. I know I started to dehydrate during Monday night so I finally started forcing water down knowing good and well it was going to go right through me. The pain in my stomach stopped Friday evening as well as the feeling my stomached had swelled up. I have my strength back today and very thankful it's over.

I don't wish this illness on any body and don't really know what I could have done different. We had four other adults and three children with us that day and they were not affected. What really bothers me is not that it happened, but what I can do to make sure it doesn't happen again.

This is truly a remarkable site and I thank all who post.

Water Boy, that is EXACTLY how Quinn was. I had some Pull-Ups from a long time ago and she had to wear those for the duration because she just couldn't make it in time.

She also didn't eat anything the entire time...even when she felt better. She has just now started eating normally. She was really good about drinking her water and I believe that's what kept her out of the hospital.

I'm glad she's feeling better... I hate it when kids get sick like that :sosad:

My MIL got really ill on Friday after eating seafood in Niceville Thursday night. She's feeling ok now, but she looked like hell on Friday.

beachyteachy, I know all about this. Back in 86 I was working at a cafeteria and sat down around 2:00 to eat my lunch and had fried chicken. By nine o'clock that night, only 7 hours later, I was throwing up and losing everything out the other end also. I went to the doctor the next day and they wanted to admit me to a hospital right then as I had to rush to their bathroom and made a horrible mess of their floor and my clothes, I was very ill.

I however, chose to go home and see if things would improve but when they did not by the next day I called the doctor back and was told what hospital to go to. I weighed 126 pounds at the time and by the time I got out of the hospital and isolation 8 days later I weighed only 110lbs. I also was suffering from a kidney infection and had developed ulcerative colitis. So I know how sick this can make you. So I am glad Quinn got better quickly. She got over it way earlier than I did. It is a horrible thing.
