I want to take my granddaughter on a mini-vacation in the Sanibel area. Does anyone have a recommendations for a place to stay?

I prefer a condo or cottage outside a resort complex; right on the beach; and small (l bedroom). A small hotel/motel; no bed and breakfasts this time.

Anyone have places you have stayed that you enjoyed? Or know someone who has a place in this area that is for rent? I am looking on VRBO, etc, but since I am not familiar with the neighborhoods and streets, it is confusing.

Thanks for any insight.

Sent you a PM...we have spent many vacations on Sanibel & Captiva since our honeymoon there in 1982...

...we even have seashells from Bowman's Beach among our displays at Fired Up!

We stayed at Song of the Sea a couple years ago and loved it. Small hotel, nicely decorated rooms, right on the beach, free bikes, nice small pool area, excellent continental breakfast around the fountain in the courtyard, bottle of wine in room when you check in; kitchenette for quick meals/snacks; screened balcony to keep out no-seeums. Can't vouch for it now--but enjoyed it then. Comments on travel website from folks who stayed there recently gave it high marks.

We stayed at the Moorings last month and several other times, too. If you want, PM me and I'll send you the photos I took. A picture is worth a thousand words.

I would also recommend the Holiday Inn. It's another lovely property.
