VD
is a good excuse to buy myself a nice little gifty. I used to really have to hold my tongue when hubby sent roses. They are gorgeous, but so expensive and don't last but a few days. I'd rather have a whole rose bush. So now, after 26 years, he just let's me get what I want ( I'm thinking I need to replace the countertops in the bar with granite) and takes me out for a nice evening (see my thread on "need suggestions for what to do on Sowal for VD").

ps. We're giving a Valentines martini party for my child's school on 2/7. The feature drink is a
VALENTINI - equal parts vodka with "Sexy Liqueur" poured over a dollop of pink cotton candy in the martini glass.

For the singles - Valentine's Day is about celebrating people who love you, not having a date or spouse. The ones I've spent with my girls have always been SO much better than the ones spent with a date.
For the guys in a relationship - it's the one day a year where a little effort and thoughtfulness will guarantee you some loving - and Hallmark & co are constantly reminding you of it so you have time to prepare
