There is a place in Panama City around the 231 and 98 area. This is a tan wood building, two floors with a huge praying mantis on the roof and all the fish hanging on the side of the building? This place we have been in two years in a row is somewhere up that way and has big bird houses hanging outside on the trees, faces on the trees, bird baths, and other concrete lawn ornaments, and inside the building is a really bizarre mixture of nautical and non-nautical things. Plus more stuff upstairs and maybe another building. I took several pictures inside and outside the place last year if it is the same place. Do not want it to close because I was going back in there when we are down in September and was going to buy something in there. There is a old red phone booth outside also. Not sure it is the same place though. Loved that place! If not, if anyone knows the name of that place could they let me know, that is if it has a name! Will put some pictures on the photo gallery. Thanks.

Whatever the name of the place you posted photos of....I WANT TO GO THERE!!

:rotfl: Destindreamin, I wish I knew the name of that place. I honestly saw no name. We have been in there twice. The inside is really neat. I plan on going back this year. I like the old look the inside has. The place is very easy to find. You cannot miss it, it is on the north side of 231 in Panama City. There is another place similar right across 231 on the south side of the street. Wondering if the same people own it. You need to go there next time you are at the beach, if you are not already there. But if not, did you have storms overnight? Texas has gotten hit pretty hard this past week. We had some bad storms today here. Could have more tomorrow. Got as black as night this afternoon here. Heavy rain, lightning, and thunder.

Unfortunately, I am at home...we've had quite a few night storms lately. Fortunately, nothing too bad where I am, but we sure needed the rain. Some friends in other spots have gotten hit pretty hard though. I am so there at this "curiosity shop" next time I'm down though....it looks soooooooooooo cool. I don't go to PC much...but IBD...I will let you know if you want to go with!!

We usually do our vacationing at Inlet Beach around the last of August or Labor Day Week. We will be there the last week of August this year, if the funds are available that is. I have cousins in Texas. Two at Cedar Hill, Texas and one at Spring, Tx. We unfortunately do not own a place at the beach and sometimes do not get to come every year.

We usually go in August too...after school starts back up. All our kids are older. Just discussed last night going end of July...but I imagine it will depend on when we can get our house. It's a family house on Oklaloosa Island  and we don't pay to stay there, so we just have to pretty much go when we can get it. If we are there at the same time, would love to meet you!

:D Would love to meet you too! Free lodging is worth the wait no matter when. Wish we had relatives who had a family house we could stay at free. We sure got the storms overnight here. started around 3:15 and didn't let up until around 4:30. More coming in here around 8:00 and I will barely get to work if I do make it there ahead of them. Could get 1 to 2 inches more rain with flash flooding.

Well, I have not kayaked but my husband and I canoed last year at Econfina Creek. When we were down last year I saw 3 kayaks out and one canoe going past our condo we rent. The pictures of them are posted on my photo gallery. They were just two places over to the right of where we stay,at the Eastern end of Inlet Beach. We have only canoed once, and that was last year.

Scavengers Bazaar has relocated (101 Amar Place) behind the Dollar Store off Hwy 98E/Back Beach Rd going toward Panty Maw. It's approximately 3-5 miles beyond their old store. It is a really neat place for locals and tourists. They've expanded and have 2 floors and also going to open another Scavengers in July 07 in the old Walton Sun strip mall. There phone # is 850-235-8095. I've bought a couple of their adironack chairs and a bunch of shells to fill my large glass containers. Check it out if you've never been there.
