You just wouldn't believe the pregnant girls I see waddling out of school at the end of each day. Just makes me sick. My son informed me that there is a nursery for them to drop off their older kids. Wouldn't you think that would be enough to make the others stop and think?????

And hey, the pill doesn't prevent STD's.

Apparently, it has not, but if we could some how work 2 a.m. feedings and colic into the program, I imagine that would probably do it.

They have those computerized doll-babies that they take over a 3 day period. Boy, what a pain that was for a group that my son was in a few months ago. They were all so ticked that she had to bring "it" with them everywhere they went, complete with a car seat, stroller, diaper bag. And "Peyton" (doll's name) did awaken each night to be fed or changed. I told them, "Oh, if you only knew."

8th Grade Health just about covers it ALL.

True, I remember the "slide show of the damned", but again we are in such a "take a pill and forget it" society that I would be afraid that kids would just assume that the pill takes care of the pregnancy and assume that someone saying something like "I've never done anything before" suddenly makes them immune to STD's. Basically - kids are stupid, just put a barrier between them that can stop most everything.

Outstanding idea and it puts the decision right where it ought to be...

Which is a great idea, and we will teach our kids, and you will teach your kids, but who is going to teach all the kids whose parents don't think like we do? Sadly, you can't force parents to "parent", so the slack is going to have to picked up another way. I wish I could wave a magic wand and make all children have good parents (or any parents for that matter). It's just unrealistic to expect all learning to go back to the home...

I hear you loud and clear and agree, but............................................. who is going to do it? I made a bit of a fuss on another thread about day care, learing from paid keepers, etc. The problem is, as you say, not everyone thinks and acts like "us".

Not a lot of good answers out there.

Think I'll stick my head in the sand for a few days.
