Well actually, it did occur to me that he was CEO of a company that agreed to pay over 1 billion in penalties for fraud that was committed, once again, while he was CEO. Too bad they couldn't take the fifth on that! He took the fifth to impede justice and save his own skin.

Rick Scott took the fifth to keep his sorry ass out of jail. He succeeded with regard to our legal system, and failed miserably in the court of public opinion.

But those in politics, especially those that are not in leadership have very little say when it comes to policy. Jimmy Patronis and Marti Coley are 2 such folks. Although I like them both the issue is they will vote Party over doing what is right. Marti has taken heat in the past from the leadership for not being on board with all there policies but I don't think Jimmy has ever voted against leadership.
Honesty comes to play here. They took oaths to represent their constituents, not the party or the ones that happened to vote for them. Maybe we need term limits for every position, so that instead of being re-elected, those in office are concerned with one thing only, the right thing to do for those they represent.

So, obstruction of justice is OK if you might get convicted? The government proved it's case that fraud was committed. Because Scott was willing to plead the fifth seventy five times, they were unable to convict him. He hid his trail very well. But even the board of directors didn't believe his innocence, did they. Why else would they fire a perfectly innocent man?

I don't get it. If any other human being on this planet took the fifth, over seventy times, you would be hollering "he's guilty of something!", but if Rick Scott does it, he's doing it as an honest protest against the government? That's a joke.
Glad you think our federal government, at this time, is a joke. So do I.

Besides voting for Scott because is a Republican, has anyone googled this guy and really checked him out? There is concrete, easy to find info on this guy- I am still stunned that the Florida GOP allowed him to even register Republican, much less run for office.

I don't have to google this guy- we lived in Louisville when Columbia/HCA was headquartered there. He would probably be butt-kicked to the state line if he showed up in Louisville today. His sleazy dealings were the headlines for months. Then lucky Nashville- they got him.

I understand if people do not like Alex Sink's politics or policies, but you can't say that she is a dishonest person. But even more important, you can't say that Rick Scott is honest.

This is Marti's last term representing her District because of Term Limits. I think it may be Jimmys also. She has served longer because she was appointed to fill her husband uncompleted term. If you believe that they are going to do the right for their Districts, then you really need to look at the money trail during their first run at office and then look at the change over time. I also believe all State office holders have term limits.
