I've been meaning to ask all week how they fared against Destin. Back in the day, Destin was always the ones we had trouble with. Of course, those boys are now playing varsity for Niceville and FWB...

But I remember youth football, fondly. Those were the days!

They lost. We had two members hurt badly. One got a concussion and one was still in the hospital Tuesday with a spinal injury. Was life flighted. This was second hand so I'm not sure of the complete story or how the lil boy is now.

That is correct, the Seahawks lost 20-7 in a game that was much closer than the score indicates.Destin scored on 3 runs of over 60 yards, other than that they could not move the ball at all against a very tough Seahawk defense.Destin has a running back that I am sure we will be hearing alot about when he gets to high school.
There were 2 players that were injured in the game and they are both doing fine now,the child that was airlifted to Pensacola is back home and doing well,it was a symptom called "spinal shock",he is still sore but will be fine. The other player was rumored to have a concussion but all tests were negative and according to his Mom she could not get him to quit playing football in the yard Sunday with neighborhood friends!!The families of both of the players thank all of the fans that showed concern.
The Seahawks are off this weekend and await the results of Saturday's games to see who their first opponent will be next Saturday in the playoffs,I will post the game time when it is available. If you get a chance to come and watch you should,it is incredible to see these kids go toe to toe with the much larger teams in the area and come out on top with Great Defense and better discipline than you see in alot of High School teams,it is a great compliment to Coach Alex Kish and his staff, they have coached this same group of boys for the last 4 years and you can see how well they work together and go about their business on the field and the sideline.

Oh, I hate to hear that. I didn't make it to church Sunday, but before our history walk Sunday afternoon I heard our pastor saying that he was on his way to visit the boy that was life-flighted. I couldn't get any details and then it slipped my mind. I was thinking vehicle accident.

Prayers for them and their families...:sosad: And I'm really hoping that people aren't blaming the sport of football, as injuries can happen in ANY sport. At least in fb they wear helmets and pads.
