They do have the whole first season on DVD...you could have a LOST marathon. I think you would be quite lost if you picked it up now. They do flashbacks in each episode explaining the characters background etc. Before this show there wasn't a drama that I've gotten into in a few years.

that's a good idea. I look for dvds/videos for long car trips (we drive 17 miles to get to Florida, about the same to get to Maine, about 12 twice a year to get to Massachusetts). I got one season of the simpsons for the kids. Maybe I'll get the first year of LOST for the grown-ups.

Oh my, looks like I need to check in a little more often! Thanks for more welcomes, you sure are a friendly group! I don't get the sausages remark, either. Anyway, I post on several forums and some of the folks I am chimmy with call me LBH for short, but, boy, I loved the other "translations," especially the "late, but hungover" one - that's really me. As for the username, not really a story to go with it; I'm Linda, he's Bob and the word Hat is prominent in our last name; and it's always me doing the posting. If he's online, he's working, the poor man - he hasn't learned to enjoy the computer. Des Plaines (which gets a pretty American pronunciation around here) is a suburb of Chicago. My fascination with the board stems from 2 fairly recent trips to the Panhandle - first to PCB and then to Destin. Next time we hope to "get it right" and stay somewhere in between!

We live in Lake Zurich and John Rudy (who posts on this board as well) lives in Arlington Heights. I use to work for GTDC in Des Plaines about a million years ago. We have been going down to the panhandle area for 20 years and about 7 years ago bought a townhouse down there. We love it and visit about 3-4 times a year. Headed down in three weeks again and can't wait.

We just came back from seeing Flight Plan. Pretty good movie; keeps you guessing as to what the outcome will be. Jodie Foster's performance is outstanding. :clap_1:
