Thanks Audie, my first baby was from the pound. She had initially wandered up at my mother-in-law's and her and my husband had taken her and another dog with her to the pound. I cried over her and we went the next week and picked her back out of all the pooches and gave them a donation to buy food for the other dogs there as I do not think this place euthanizes the dogs unless they were sick with something not curable. I am still worried about Mo though, this fever concerns me as he did poke his head down into that hole where that sick baby raccoon had crawled and died. And I do think it had distemper probably. Sure hope he hasn't contracted that from just that. They did not give him a distemper shot last year because of his age. They stated when they are that age they try just to give the full works to them every other year because the 7 in 1 combination can be rough on them. But our neighborhood is full of raccoons and possums and foxes, etc. So I wished they would have given all of them to him anyway.

i would be worried to death too, please keep us posted. i hate when dory doesn't feel good, because she can't tell me what's wrong, and it is so frustrating.

Audie, since he has been diagnosed with low thyroid also I took it upon myself to search the web for symptoms of low thyroid in dogs. Looks like most of his problem is that and the diabetes. Will find out tomorrow how he is. Then will let you know.

CLINICAL SIGNS OF CANINE HYPOTHYROIDISM

Alterations in Cellular Metabolism

weakness / stiffness / laryngeal paralysis / facial paralysis / tragic expression / knuckling or dragging feet / muscle wasting / megaesophagus / head tilt / drooping eyelids

Neuromuscular Problems

seizures / mental dullness / exercise intolerance / neurologic signs polyneuropathy / lethargy / weight gain / cold intolerance / mood swings hyperexcitability / stunted growth / chronic infections

Mango, unfortunately I have had that practice already for over two years with the other dog in the other picture. She had diabetes. They cannot figure out the fever problem though, hadn't Saturday morning though. I will call them as soon as I get to work to see how he is. I had noticed over the past month his nose being warm on several different occasions, noses are supposed to be cold I think normally. It was a hard weekend without him and I am sure he didn't like the vet's office. Thanks Melissa and everyone.
