I think of moon vine (morning glory family) as desiring more sun and would consider it a tender perennial here. zone 8 maybe?

How about the annual sweet potato vine trained to your trellis? There are bright green ones or purple ones, or mix them together - one is a mottled blend.

Yeah, you are probably right about the moon vine needing more sun.
Sweet potato vine might work.
BTW Rita..I took your advice and moved my Louisiana Iris to a sunnier spot and they bloomed great this year!!

YAY! Mine are blooming but the rain beat them down a bit. :sosad:

My TX Betony went all out this year! I should have taken a photo.

I'd like to have another moon vine! I have an arbor in semi-shade and it did well on it. Wonder where I can get some more seeds?
