I guess since my son attends a huge public school with some typical violence, I'm extremely happy there is zero tolerance. Our situation is more gang related tho. There was an incidence just last Thursday. Supposedly a kid was going to bring a gun to school the next day. A mother overheard her daughter talking about that possibility. The mother promptly called the police. The kabash (is this a real word?) on it immediately, kids were expelled. Emails and letters were sent home over the weekend. I'm glad this was an over reaction. I'm also thankful that the principal and admin. don't take their weekends off!

But a 7 yr olds drawing & suspension? Sad.

Wonder what schools are going to be like when mine start...I'll probably be in front of a judge myself every other week Maybe they'll just hold court IN school. This makes me want to slap the bull butter out of a principal. Can I be jailed for making that statement?? FTLOG!

Lets flip this situation around. Let's say they did absolutely nothing re: the sketch. The next day that kid brings a real gun to school and actually shoots the other kid. Everybody at that school would lose their jobs and it would be on CNN because they did nothing to prevent it....There is more to the story or it is a case of CYA....
