Oh, I totally did not mean to imply that the food wasn't good. We just had a cold cut plate and beer...it was more a snack than a meal...
The beer is excellent. I had Weissebier, and it was the best I've had outside of the Crescent City Brew Pub's version. Skunky also enjoyed his beer. Thank God I didn't let him order the 1.0 L size, or he'd have probably been dancing on the table with the cute Fraulein serving the front patio. He was quite enchanted.
I can't think of a better place to have a beer and a pretzel and people watch. I actually had a great time until Skunky got a little scary in his zeal to broker a new career for me. :shock: All in all, it's a great place to kill a cloudy afternoon.
And for the people who have speculated otherwise -- there is a guy working there in leather lederhosen....and it's, well, let's just say it's not as unappealing as you might imagine.

My ex was adament that he loved Hooters for the food.....seriously....and I think he is lurking around this site...so I want to go ahead and say it....he's a D!ckhead................
Not if he goes on a Fri or Sat when the old man plays the drums as a solo gig for a few hours each night.
That alone, is well worth the trip to Pappy's. To clue you in, he plays big-band music on a CD player, and plays a full drum kit to the music -- it is definitely something to see. The food is rather, ... dull and boring, but filling, but you cannot buy that type of entertainment.
Liederhosen are not real long shorts or very comfy - which is why my brother rebelled against them years before me and my cousins stopped wearing drindls!
