Years ago I had the opportunity to bungee jump from a 110' high platform suspended by a crane. Can't say I'd ever attempt it again

, but at least I can "check it off the list". Would love to skydive just to feel what must be the surreal sensation of standing in the open door and falling from a completely functional aircraft.
"Surreal" is a good word for it. I've done high-element swings, rapelling, etc., and jumping from 14,000 isn't half as scary because when you look out of the plane it just doesn't register. Even free-falling is less like falling than being blasted in the face with a whole lot of air. I would make sure I didn't jump where Smiling Joe jumped; I don't like those odds!
My brother once told me about a group (that included some members of Monty Python) called the Dangerous Sports Club. One of the activities was the reverse of your bungee jump: You're strapped down to a platform on the ground, and a 300-foot crane stretches the bungee upward. Release straps, try not to black out and get tangled in the bungee...
They also liked to go down ski slopes on large objects not associated with skiiing, like Venitian Gondolas, giant inflatable elephants, and grand pianos. Ah, to be young, rich and foolish...
