Little IBD watches the Smurfs and it brings back memories....

Who is your favorite Smurf and why???

I can't remember all of their names, but that show was weird in retrospect. I am an avid cartoon watcher and did watch some Smurfs in the day. I think there was Brainy, Grumpy, Stinky, Studdly. Who was the flamboyant one with the mirror? I had one of the figures - a weightlifting smurf. How embarrassing. Of course I also had some Transformers, Thundercats, and the obligatory Star Wars action figures.

back! Smurfette was the fav in my house. sarafunn slept with a smurfette doll until...never mind, she would be angry at me for telling.

Did anyone every see the SNL skit about the Smurfs? It was hilarious. I would have liked to have heard the pitch for that cartoon. Maybe it went like this -
"Here's my idea... there's a little village of tiny tiny blue forest trolls... and they're all boys."
"What do you mean they are all boys? How could there be all boys?"
"Well... its just all boys. Its a cartoon, it could happen."
"No, there can't just be all boys that doesn't make any sense."
"Well if you're going to be a jerk, there can be a girl... but only one."
"O.k. I can live with one, but she has to be a blonde."
"Fine...fine. Oh yeah, I almost forgot... they only have one verb - smurf. And they smurf everything!"
"That is the greatest idea I've ever heard! You are a genious! It will be a classic!"

I always thought Smurfette was a tramp. "Smurf" was one of our favorite cusswords back in the day, as in, "I don't give a smurf, so smurf you, you smurfin' smurfhole..."
