That is great! I am fortunate/unfortunate to fly out of my local airport here at least once a month and we have a number of military that come through our airport. I make it a point to go up to all the ones that are alone and tell them thank you. There is no line here to greet them and sometimes they are just standing by themselves and I feel bad for them. At first they are kinda confused when a random person walks up to them but it is great to see them light up. Its the best part of my trip and I recommend others doing it as well.
I believe this tradition started in the Bangor Maine airport where so many come through...wouldn't it be wonderful if people around the country adopted the idea like these two cities have...I know the men and women would appreciate it.
