2013 SOUTH WALTON WITCHES RIDE

Oct 31 7am sharp!

Join the annual Witches of South Walton ride along Scenic 30A on Halloween morning and get in touch with your inner cackle.

The SoWal Witches meet at 7 a.m. sharp at Miss Lucille’s in Gulf Place, and ride bikes to Butler Elementary to scare (amuse) the kids for a while. Then, they regroup at Grayt Coffee House of Monet Monet in Grayton Beach for brunch and a raffle for local treats.

Entry fee is $15 and raffle tickets are $5, to benefit Children’s Volunteer Health Network (CVHN).

To save time on the morning of the ride, you are invited to a Witches Brew at Grayton Bar & Grill on Oct. 30, from 5 pm to 7 pm, where you can register and pay the entry fee. Helpful witches will collect items to add to the raffle bag if you'd like to donate – examples are a gift certificate, Halloween décor, fake witch's mole, or whatever.

So help support CVHN, don your best witch costume, and join the Witches of South Walton for a fiendishly frightful great time this Halloween. See Witches of South Walton website or on facebook.

Entry fee - $15.00
Raffle tickets -$5.00

Witches Brew is on Wednesday, 10/30, 5-7PM at Grayton Bar & Grill... Witches and friends can come visit, register and pay entry fee for the next day's ride. We will also be collecting items to add to the raffle bag should anyone wish to donate – gift certificate, Halloween décor, etc.

About The Witches of South Walton

The Witches of South Walton is a group of women founded by Carol Stafford and Le Thompson dedicated to raising money for the Children’s Volunteer Health Network.

The inaugural ride was held Oct. 31, 2004, started by three friends, who would get together a few times a week to ride down the 30A bike path for exercise.

“I jokingly suggested that we wear witch hats on Halloween day. We did, and got lots of attention. Busses honked their horns at us, trucks blew and whistled at us, the kids going to school loved it, and so did most all the parents and teachers,” said Stafford.

The ride began with just a few friends and has grown over the years to include a pre-ride party to register for the ride and get to know the new witches, a post-ride brunch and raffle with lots of goodies donated from local businesses. The ride always held on Halloween morning(or the Friday before). They ride 2.2 miles along West Scenic Highway 30A, starting at Gulf Place to Butler Elementary to greet the children as they arrive at school and then back to Gulf Place and off to Brunch(some even riding there as well).
