Senic highways

Thanks for this designation. It is a smart move. My husband and I have traveled Florida backroad since the 60's. Maybe we can find soem new trails to cruise....

If Miramar Beach is in South Walton how come everybody thinks South Walton is just on 30A? Why isn't Scenic Gulf Drive a scenic highway?

Some don't view sprawl and condos as scenic.

That and the fact that there was a team of people who worked very hard so that we wouldn't see the sprawl on 30-A. South Walton isn't just 30-A, nor is it just Sandestin & Miramar. It includes Point Washington & Santa Rosa Beach (the actual historic area) That also doesn't mean that those who live, work and/or play on 30-A shouldn't be proud that there is now a scenic designation.

My understanding is that it would not have met the eligibility requirements when it was being pursued for 30-A. However, there is a tremendous amount of work currently underway to increase walkability, parking, traffic calming, landscaping, etc. so it could possibly be pursued in the future.
