It was great. Very beautiful, weather was perfect, no rain, huge crashing waves. High humidity, dew point in the high 70's. Glad our cottage had a generator because the electricity went out every day! We rented a small boat for the week and island-hopped to different restaurants, & discovered new snorkeling sites thruout each day. Boy, this really is the sailing capital of the world as they claim - we saw many 50 - 75' sailboats and yachts. Our jaws were hanging as we trolled by in our little 18' boat! And for this to be their high season, we only saw 4 - 5 people on a beach at any given time, sometimes no one. Starfish were as big in circumfrence as dinner plates! Stagazing at night on the pool deck at the cottage was pretty amazing while listening to the waves pounding the beach. We discovered cracked conch is pretty tasty. We were happy there was no cell service - but Collin was in a snit to discover that (I had neglected to inform him of that, which was a BIG mistake). He finally got over it in a few days. But once we hit MIA airport, it was back on.
Yes, it was beautiful & relaxing (if not
extremely hot), but we all 3 agreed within the first evening, that it wasn't as pretty as the "Panhandle." Collin was sad & disappointed about that. We would return again one day, but it really is Sowal & the general area for us from now on!
