Thank you. I will plan to be there!

I may join you.

I didn't know sowell was in this forum.

you guys are already inspiring me. although I need about a week to really think about what I need to do.

I've gained about 5 too. and for someone as short as me that's a LOT.

I know I need to get rid of the baby fat once and for all. Since my baby is certainly not a baby anymore. Not even a toddler. Okay, he's almost 6! It's time to stop saying that "I just had a baby".

If I lived here I would either weigh 500 lbs. from all the grayt food, or 85 lbs. from the ridiculous exercising. If I could swim a couple of miles today, I'd have the triathlon thing going on...

Ok I know no one has posted on this since the end of December. Our beach vacation is about 5 weeks away. I need tips on losing 10 lbs between now and then. We have virtually stopped eating out. Quit that about 4 weeks ago other than getting a salad out. I cannot walk for exercise right now due to a problem since last summer from plantars fascitis. This practically ended my walking until this heals. I went the route of Dr. Scholls gel heel inserts which didn't help much, pain was horrible upon getting up in the morning. I would step down on the floor and the pain in my feet made it very difficult to walk.

However, we do have a home gym with a stepper and a leg lift bench and a exercise bike. We also have a ski machine and treadmill which is out of the question as that is the same as walking on the road as to the impact on my feet. I finally went to the Good Feet Store the beginning of March and was fitted with some sport inserts $336 later. However, within a week they had made a difference in the way my feet felt. I can get out of bed now with pain only on occasion when stepping on the floor. However I was told it would take 9 months to heal this. And since I went really from August to March you might as well say without anything being done about this other than buying my own pairs of inserts from Walmart, Walgreens, etc., that means December of this year before this probably will heal.

What I'm wondering is, how effective would using the stepper on a home gym and the leg lift part of the gym be in helping me lose any weight, especially if used daily. And my exercise bike I can use but since I have not really exercised much since last summer I probably am too out of shape to be able to do more than 5 minutes. I'm wondering if even 5 minutes would benefit me. Any thoughts on this are appreciated. Thanks.

Since you can't really be on your feet I would suggest a workout routine like Pilates combined w/ some weight lifting.

I forgot about Pilates. We have 3 tapes of theirs. And our gym has weights of course to work your legs on the leg lift part and a bar above to do weights for the arms. Sorry my post was so lengthy but thanks for the tips scooterbug44. My husband and I enjoy a daily walk down the beach twice a day, and if my feet are able to handle it at all, I want to be able to do so.
