I've got a bunch of green ones for St. Patrick's Day with commentary. Here's a starter. All I can say is that spaghetti dyes green very well. So does Boar's head bratwurst, being essentially white. The hot dogs don't dye green so well, but they do provide an interesting almost metallic looking interspecies contrast to the more formidable and obviously dominant brat counterparts. In any event, I think the dogs are holding their own. You may even notice one of the dogs is conjoined with a brat via green ectoplasmic pasta spew. So they're not in direct competition for territory. One big happy family, stealing the definition of fun, from the proverbial barrel of monkeys. Click the image to enlarge.

I'm intrigued. :scratch:And mildly horrified. :blink::lol:

Did you actually sample your delicacy, or did you find the color to be somewhat... uhm... off-putting? :puke:I think this smiley is probably a fairly accurate prediction, color-wise, of the end result... ;-)

I realize now that the dog-brats are tireless pasta manufacturing plants spewing from both ends simultaneously. Something new has cropped up however. On the right apparently one of the dogs has atrophied and lost the ability to participate. I'm not even sure if it, he, she is alive. I have not seen this among the brats (yet). On another note, they all remind me of baby Ctulhus (sp?).

It's difficult not to view this cuisine as a kind of ecosytem, more appropriate on the cover of a nature magazine than a food magazine. Camouflage for critters, who might also feed off of the very environment that protects them.
