JUL, I think you are over simplifying things. Let's look at the picture above.

First the unitard or spandex leggings w/ spandex body suit. The socks aren't quite right as there were generally 2-3 pairs layered and then rolled appropriately. Note the useless belt and jewelry. I mean seriously why all that to work out? Also she doesn't seem to be wearing near enough "sweat" gear. She only has a head band on and should be wearing a head band with matching wrist bands. Lastly the make up is entirely understated for an 80's aerobic workout. Two words - ELECTRIC BLUE - and lots of it. Apply it with a trowel if neccessary, but make sure it's there and can be SEEN. Oh almost forgot, but this is entirely unrealistic as there is actual sweat on the outfit. This was almost unheard of in the 80's unless you were on a coke bender.

BTW, grace, you never saw Skunkape's Mardi Gras costume, did you? So who knew that Justin Timberlake is one of the stars in your video? I think he spent too much time in Menuedo, or was it BackStreetBoys?
