I can remember many, many spring breaks at the beach in March. (We were Pensacola people too.) It was always sunny and beautiful. But it was always windy and too cold to swim. We still laid out in our swim suits but we were very chilly. STILL, it was great weather and great fun. Like eveyone says, it's an iffy time of year. But will be better than Ohio. Bring sweatshirts for night. And, bring kites. March is great kite-flying weather!! And as it gets closer to April, it will be just a little warmer still.
Love your dog, too!

If the Gulf is too cold during Spring Break, you can always go swimming in a heated pool. Do you have a long extension cord to plug this one into? You may want to bring your ladder, too. :D

You reckon I could pull that thing home with my truck? It would look good in my yard. I'm sure you wouldn't mind if I took it off your hands.

Or if empty..... might be a good place to put your beach chair to get away from the chilly April wind!!!

Thanks for all the advice...I especially like the idea of using the empty pool as a wind shelter :rotfl: Easter is pretty late this year and just about any weather is better than Cleveland in April!

By the way, ShakenNotStirred, we've got some pretty big Steeler fans in our family. We used to live in Pittsburgh when my kids were little and I think somehow there was something in the water! Go STEELERS!! :clap_1:

I can remember March 3, 1980. A day that will live in my memory forever. Skipped class at Montevallo to drive down to Panty Maw City for the day. 4 hour drive to get there. Got to the beach at 8:00 am. Started drinking Miller pony's at about 9:00 a.m. passed out on the beach on my stomache until about 4 in the afternoon. When I woke up I was toast, literally. My friends thought I had died. Did I mention I am blonde and very pale that time of the year. To make a long story short, by the time I got back to my dorm at about 10 o'clock that night. I was puking my gut's up. I was purple. They rushed me to the hospital ER. I had severe sun poisoning with second degree burns from the top of neck to the bottom of my feet. I was in the infirmary at the college for 2 weeks. Could not wear clothes nothing, because it hurt so bad for anything to touch me. Was on alot of pain meds. My twin sister came to see me the day after I did this, she did not recognize me, I was so swollen from the sun poisioning. I peeled for months. It was awful. My dad just about killed me. He would have, had he not felt so sorry for me.

Moral of story. It get's hot down there in March. Use sunscreen. Don't drink and pass out on the beach unless you have at a least SPF100 on. :D
