I'm finding it interesting reading about some of your star sightings. Anyone else have stories to share? Eric Clapton married a local girl and I hear he's been spotted around town but I've never seen him. I ran into Danny Bonaduce in a Chicago elevator once. And then I waved to Donny Osmond  when he was hanging out a window before a concert at the Palace Theater. Exciting stuff.

We were in a piano bar in St. Louis several years ago when John Bobbitt came in with a friend and sat down at the table next to ours. Didn't see Lorena with him though :funn:

I have a bunch just from living in the city...but my most recent was last night. We saw Phillip Seymour Hoffman last night with his son and wife- or love interest at Mary's Dairy eating ice cream. They sat right by us.

Well, we don't see too many stars here, but mine was Don Henley. I have a friend in Dallas that lives next door to a house where he had his office. All the times I'd been there she always said, "maybe he'll come by" cuz she knows that I just LOVE    Don Henley. Back in March, we had a "girls night" at her house and she came to the back patio where we all were and quietly told me that he was next door watering! Well, I went out front on the pretense that I was smoking, and sure enough, there he was with his daughter watering the newly planted flowerbeds. I was cool and just gave a little wave, so did he, and that was it. But, I'll remember it forever! :D

Most of my star sightings have been sports stars/athletes like Terry Bradshaw, Chris Chambliss, Tom Glavine, John Smoltz, Lawrence Taylor and many others. The one that was kinda bizarre was when we saw Steven Tyler (Aerosmith lead singer) at the Lenox Square Mall in the Brookstone store in Atlanta. He had a concert that night and I guess was out doing some browsing. Once everyone recognized him, a bunch of folks started gathering around him and we left the store. Pretty cool though.

Not a South Walton siting, but we went to a birthday party last night where Boz Scaggs and his band provided the after dinner entertaining for dancing under the stars. The Boz still has that superb voice and looks pretty much the same, although is a silver fox now. He's a southern boy and a friend of our birthday boy.

My husband wants to know if Cheryl and Lance plan to tie the knot at Grayton. You know that you're middle-aged when your husband's only interest in hottie Cheryl Crowe is an opportunity to get a glimpse of Lance! Mine is a beast on the bicycle, too, doing 5,000+ miles every year. All summer long we alterated between the Tour de France coverage and The Weather Channel. Lance is much nicer to watch than Jim Cantore!

I am headed down to Grayton first thing tomorrow morning and am so excited about a week there in October. Hubby has to stay home this time because of harvest and to doggie sit puppy, Butter. A few days with the college roomies...pajama party! Then a family visit and little dinner for my mother's 86th birthday...you go, Mildred! So stay away, stay away, you meannie TD #24!

And did anyone else see this morning's New York Times, with the article about South Walton and its wonderful restaurants? The writer used to vacation there as a child and he fondly remembered the Green Knight (where his folks would buy whiskey) and going to the Gulfarium. Shades of the past.

Enjoy the beaches today, everyone.

You reminded me of another one. We were at Cedar Point in the line for the kiddie coaster when there was a bit of a commotion going on in the front of the line. I had no idea who it was but my husband knew right away. It was
Omar Visquel (sp) and his family. He had a bunch of people with him and they never had to wait in line. I remember my daughter asking me why they got to go before us when we had been waiting so long.
