This Thursday night, Stephen Baldwin will be at the Lyceum Meeting Room at the Seaside School to present and discuss '95 Oscar-Winner "The Usual Suspects." This event is FREE, but seating is limited. Last night at the Watercolor Boathouse we had a full-house! The event starts at 7:30PM but the doors open at 6:45PM so you can get there in time to get seats. See you all there!

Actor, author and political activist Stephen Baldwin was part of a panel on Larry King Live last night, discussing health care reform and the Obama administration. When host Larry King came to Baldwin, he proclaimed ?it?s official today, Barack Obama is the greatest gangster to ever come out of Chicago,? then followed with ?Mr. Obama?s a liar.?

Baldwin then went on to point out that the health care bill failed to get one Republican vote, which he seemed to la at the feet of the Obama Administration. He then went on to rhetorically ask how, what he called a ?broken government? could fix ?broken health care system.?

Baldwin was joined by Kevin Madden, spokesman and senior advisor for Mitt Romney in his 2008 presidential bid, Marc Lamont Hill, professor at Columbia University, and actor and comedienne, Aisha Tyler, and was initially asked if he was offended by Vice President Joe Biden?s f-bomb. ?Well, you know Larry, the bible says that out of the mouth comes the things that are in our heart, so I?m not surprised by Vice President?s potty mouth.?

Later in the segment Madden rebuked Baldwin, and took the high road, claiming that he was not interested in calling his opponents names. Lamont Hill also said that it was intellectually dishonest to claim, as Baldwin did, that 50% of American?s are unhappy with this bill simply because they were conservative. King asked Baldwin if he wanted to reconsider his words, to which he replied ?absolutely not, Larry. The difference between me and everyone else talking is that I?m not afraid of the repercussions of speaking the truth.?

I will not be among the Tea Baggers he's sure to attract for his next two presentations in SoWal.

I was looking at Stephen Baldwin's personal info on Wikipedia, because, like you said, who knew. This is what I found



Baldwin resides in the village of Nyack, New York, with his wife, the Brazilian graphic designer Kennya Baldwin (n?e Deodato), whom he met in 1987 and married in 1990. The couple have two children, Alaia (born 1993) and Hailey Rhode (born 1996).[15] His father-in-law is the Grammy Award winning Brazilian musician Eumir Deodato.

In 2006, Baldwin launched a campaign to prevent an adult bookstore from opening in Nyack.[16] He was a strong supporter of the McCain/Palin presidential ticket after Mike Huckabee dropped out of the 2008 presidential race.

Baldwin has a tattoo on his left shoulder of the initials "HM" for Hannah Montana. He got the tattoo after making a pact with Miley Cyrus that he would be allowed to cameo on the show if he had the initials tattooed on him. He revealed the tattoo to Cyrus at a book signing in Nashville, on November 10, 2008.[17] To date he has never appeared on the show. He has since gone on record as saying that he regrets getting the tattoo[18]

Stephen and his wife, Kennya, defaulted on paying $824,488.36 on their mortgage. Baldwin's home in Upper Grandview, (Rockland County) N.Y. was being auctioned at the County Court House steps on June 12, 2009 after Bankers Trust Co. foreclosed on the home. Gannett News also reported that: "Additionally, county filings show the Baldwins owe National City Bank money for a separate mortgage and may owe tens of thousands in unpaid state and federal taxes on the property."[19]

He filed for a Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition in New York, on July 21, 2009, according to a court document that says he is millions in debt. He claimed he owes more than $2.3 million and owns a New York property valued at only $1.1 million. His wife, Kennya Baldwin, also is named in the document.[20][21]

I assume so since his brother, Alec, just as recently as December, donated 1MM to the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU.
